RESEARCH AND WORK IN SPECIALTY CLINICS ON CAMPUS

Comprehensive training in current, evidence-based assessment and psychotherapeutic treatment approaches is at the core of Â鶹´«Ã½’s PhD in Clinical Psychology program. Begin building the foundational competencies of professional practice through specialty clinics as early as your first year. Deepen your knowledge and expertise through externships in Long Island and New York City. Research projects and a one-year, full-time internship completed anywhere in the country are required. This full-time program takes an average of five to seven years to complete.

To be considered for the PhD in Clinical Psychology, you must have successfully completed a baccalaureate degree at an accredited institution and have preparation in elementary statistics, research design, psychopathology/abnormal psychology, and experimental psychology/laboratory.

  • Transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities. You may initially submit unofficial copies of your transcripts for your application review, but official transcripts will be required once you are accepted into the program.
  • The GRE is not required for admission.
  • Three to four letters of recommendation.
  • Curriculum vitae listing educational and professional experiences and accomplishments.
  • Personal essay with professional goals statement.
  • Personal interview with department member.
